So I am continuing to procrastinate on posting pictures from my bathroom, spare bedroom, and new tattoo but instead I have found some amazing cooking blogs and recipes and been keeping up with work and school. I move in to my parents house on Monday and surprising to say I am actually quite excited. Weird huh? Me and my mom have been so close lately and I guess I’m just happy to be there for her and a part of me is stoked I get a nice big kitchen to cook in again (I found the best recipe for meatballs and apple Danish type thing that I’m making Monday!) Me and mom had a teensy bit of a rough patch last year but since then and getting more focused on school we have really gotten to have a stronger relationship than ever. She really is my best friend and I’m quite excited for all the mom perks I get at home too. I’ll let you know when it gets not so fun anymore. School is unbearable…ugh. Spring break totally got me out of the zone and I am just dying for summer, even though I will be going to summer school. Summer will not be as intense as school though and with it being slower at work during the summer and the fact that Cody, Brianna and Camilla (ASU friends) will all be staying in Arizona for some summer classes I expect some lazy days at the pool and a spontaneous road trip or two to break free from summer school. Yay for immense heat, summer fun, and perhaps our plans for Mexico City with the family will stick but we’ll just have to wait and see how safe it is. So aside from being completely overwhelmed with work and school I have somehow found a list of stuff I am dying to do the first second I get the chance: Make Zipper Flowers CROCHET! finish reading...the 7 books I've started Road trip to Sedona with Marisa?? Screenprint figure out how to organize my recipes work with Fondant! so by the time these things get done I will have a whole new list =) I probably will

AHH
Spring break is over and all i really want to do is go back home and sleep in until the semester is over. At least I got to paint and got everything moved that I could do over spring break. I still have lots of cleaning and moving, assignments coming, class schedules, doctor appointments, random stuff and summer school registration to think about =/ Little overwhelmed but just taking it one day at time and trying to balance all the stuff I have to do with all the stuff I want to do. Short post for today since I neglected the blog for a bit but I have photos and new ideas to share for another day =)
but while I was not doing all the work I now have piling up I found another little guilty pleasure.

Cheesecake Anyone??

SO I love, absolutely adore baking. It really is fun to be able to make brownies, and cookies, cakes, and pies and then sharing them and making friends and family really happy. My favorite things to bake have to be chocolate cake, cookies (the kind you just take the dough and smack it down on the cookie sheet), and of course cheesecakes. The first two tend to be easier to make and look good when they come out, but it takes a couple cracked, browned and over cooked cheesecakes to fully get the trick to making one look good. So after hours of finding good recipes, looking up some ‘have-to’ tips to get a perfect looking cheesecake, and testing and trying I have the flattest (no sunk in middle) even colored, yummy looking cheesecake. YAY!
Here is a close up and a picture of it just out the oven.
I will try to get a picture of it when I serve it at work tomorrow befor emy co-workers devour the entire thing. It's interesting how I can use my baked goods as bargaining tools at my work (last time cory, my co-worker, made me chilli for cheesecake...it was sooo good) At very least I get the chance to practice on making prettier and yummier cakes without having to eat an entire cheesecake and sharing with everyone!

Reason #463817 I will NOT have babies:
Babies (when in multiples numbers) drive everyone else INSANE when YOU’RE not a good parent. Sunday at work I had a woman come in with about 7 kids all under the age of 5 to pick up a cake. The cake she ordered was due at noon and she had showed up at 11 to pick it up. (Side note: my BIGGEST pet peeve is when costumers order a cake for a time say 1pm and then they show up at 11am and want the cake they ordered at 1. NO, I do not have your cake ready, yeah ya know the cake you wanted at 1 pm, at 11am. It is 11 now and if you needed the cake at 11 you should have said you wanted your cake at 11, NOT at 1 like YOU did say. So no, right now, at 11, I DO NOT have the your cake, the one YOU ordered to be ready at 1, ready now. Sorry…huh not.) Anyways since she was an hour early she preceded to wait with her mass of badly behaved kids while I had her cake plus about 5 other more to do within a short period of time. Over the next 20 minutes her children were a constant reminder of how much I DO NOT want to procreate…ever. They put their dirty little hands all over the case I had just cleaned, ransacked my order book, emptied the sample cookies jar, and were SCREAMING for the cake at about 11:05 when the cake was really due at 12.. In these 20 minutes I wondered why we don’t give parenting licenses out before people are allowed to make babies, why we don’t do forced sterilization on people who REALLY shouldn’t procreate and how some people who are obviously unfit to have ONE child is then allowed to have more! This all sounds horrible I know, it sounds really bad to me but that is honestly how close I was to a breakdown from the sheer annoyance of this mass of badly behaved kids. I really think, from the looks of this woman, that ALL of these children were unplanned. While I think a child is never anything less than a blessing, if YOU are not prepared to fully accept the responsibility of such a blessing then maybe you should keep it in your pants, or keep your legs closed, just an idea. I know some amazing women who have/want TONS of kids and I am so proud of their strength, patience, and unselfishness, but I know I would suck up the situation (which is why I will not have kids) but aside from these special ladies some of you out there really shouldn’t have kids, let alone lots of kids, and maybe now that you have the kids and can’t really do anything about it you should probably pay attention to your children’s behavior and raising them properly. I’m positive I have no right to say of any of this since I don’t have kids or want them and can in no way understand what it really means to have them but that is just about how irritated I was with this woman and her ill behaved children. ‘Keep your kids in line…and figure out how to tell time is’ all I have to say to her. UGH!!

So I have found a new love...and I have quickly become addicted!
Yes sweet, sweet etsy.com and in the couple hours I have lost just looking at stuff I have already managed to somewhere in there spend about $40 on totally neccesary items...ie. hair pins and funky vintage necklaces =)
Maybe if I can eliminate sleep from my life, I can crochet around the clock and support my newly forming addiction by selling stuff on etsy too...I make some mean scarfs!!
If you haven't checked it (which I think is insane since it has the best handmade stuff you really can't find anywhere else) I highly suggest you do.
On another note (well I suppose somewhat the same note since we're talkign about my $$ descreasing in rapid time..) I finally made an appoitnment for my new tattoo!
Timo at urban art tattoo in mesa is going to do a nice big piece on my left arm/shoulder on March 21st. I am super excited since he does some amazing work, a little nervous because shoulder tattoos really hurt sometimes, and scared out of my mind bcause with this new tattoo dear dad will inevitably find out I have one or four...damn.
Oh well I'll post pictures of my new etsy buys and tattoo!

After living on my own for the past two years (and in my own apartment since October) I am now moving back home. I’m feeling very up and down about all of the changes coming up in the next couple weeks so I’d figure I’d write about it and get it off my chest. UP- I NO LONGER HAVE TO PAY RENT!!!!! It has become this weird circle where I got the apartment to be more independent, go out more, develop as a young adult, and have friends over and just be myself in my own space. Yet to pay for the new apartment I have been work from 30-40 hours a week and thus have no time for independent living, parties, friends, family, and am just making it by with work, school, and sleep. So I hope that by living at home I won’t have to stress about bills or having money left to go do what I want. DOWN-I will once again have to answer to mommy and daddy which totally sucks. Me and mom have been so close, but boy oh boy do me and my dad have different opinions on everything. It was going through high school which was tough and I basically just did what they asked and counted down the days till I moved out for college and got to do things how I wanted to do them. It will be interesting coming back to the same home as more grown up version of me and see how everyone adjusts. UP-I NO LONGER HAVE TO PAY RENT and am still planning to work my insane work schedule. Since I will be at home and either way not living my independent life I might as well make the most of my dead social life and make a quick buck. I already have my wish list of amazing wonderful things to buy with all this new ‘rent free’ money (new Mac laptop, new digital camera, a trip to wherever I want, etc.) DOWN-The way the economy is going I won’t get to but all those fantastic new things but instead get to spend all of my lovely money on the tuition increase. Lame how scholarships get locked in the first year you attend, and so if tuition at ASU goes up, like everyone is saying it will, then I have to cover the difference. Thank God for parents and free shelter and food right? UP-I will not have the stress or burden of bills, chores, and apartment duties to myself anymore and I can go back to being a kid and have my parents pick up the slack when things get too hectic. My laundry now gets lumped in with family laundry (yes!!) and not my sole responsibility anymore. If work or school gets too busy I don’t have to worry about dishes or cleaning or any of that crap till I can pick up the chores again (thanks mom!) So after 2 years of being an adult I’m soo happy to go back home and be totally spoiled. =) Also I have finally figured out where I want to go and what I want to do after college and lucky for me it’s not only is extremely exclusive but has like 5 or 6 steps to even being considered for hiring so moving back home will really give me the focus and drive to really study hard and get the best grades I can and prepare for the FSOT. DOWN-Queen Creek is sooooo far away from Tempe. It really is on the edge of the universe and hopefully I can do the Tue/Thur class schedule again and only have to make the great voyage two days a week. Gas is going to be killer next semester and I’ll have to give into the devil again (aka parking and transit) and buy a ridiculously overpriced parking space that ends up making me walk half an hour to campus anyways. Love it. =( UP-My mom is thrilled I’m moving back home and my simple request to change a couple things was met with ‘do whatever you want’. YES! So over spring break I’m taking a week off work and repainting my bathroom, my nephews room, and the spare bedroom which is soon to be my office/study/space for all the extra stuff I’ve accumulated since I moved out. It’s going to be killer! I am soo excited to have everything super cool and do something nice for my nephew (who’s room right now is in shambles). Hopefully I’ll get some good ideas from him and together we can give him a really sweet room that grows with him (he’s 10 right now and I am desperately trying to have him get rid of the pokemon and random stuff my keeps getting him. And he has a nice room, that means he‘ll want to keep it clean, right?? Lets hope!) I am excited, bummed, and idk what else but I think the move back will be good for me to really get the foundation settled for graduation and after college (graduate school? FSO? Moving out of state? Study abroad?) Plus I get to decorate!! And frankly that has me totally excited right now. I can’t wait to see how it turns out and of course I’ll post pictures! The interesting thing will be when my Dad sees that I have tattoos…and not just one but by then 4. I got my first one on my 18th birthday (I’m turning 20 this December) and somehow I have managed to keep it from my Dad (and I bet he will be super happy that not only do I have multiple tattoos but that he’s the only one that doesn’t know by now). He can’t really do anything about it now so lets hope he doesn’t have a heart attack. Maybe if I get one of him he won’t be so mad…You cannot get mad when the tattoo’s a big picture of you, right??
